Motorsport – Simulation Software Engineer

 We are seeking a Simulation Software Engineer to aid in the development of our simulation toolchain in GM Motorsports. You will help develop the complete toolchain for a standalone simulation tool, starting from R&D to project planning through to implementation of both the back and front end.
Using software best practices, you will help define and support test procedures for vehicles on track to collect the required data to validate existing models. You will be required to deliver all projects to the highest standards, on time, and within budget.
Deploying models via the FMI standard and a passion for crafting highly accurate and numerically efficient models is important to your and the team’s success; experience with Dymola and Modelica is beneficial. This position is open to international hiring and remote work for qualified candidates.

Additional Job Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field of study
5 + years of highly validated experience in software design or testing
Knowledge of Dymola/Modelica or similar software used for simulation toolchain
Experience with Concurrent or dSpace Hardware Real-Time Systems
Knowledge of: Java, C/C++, SQL, Modelica
Ability to multi-task in a multifaceted, constantly evolving environment, bringing a strong work ethic and integrity; able to work a flexible schedule

 

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

NASCAR, IndyCar, F1 experience
Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related subject
Knowledge and experience in tire modeling, construction, testing, and validation
Knowledge of FMI standards and deploying FMUs in co-simulation and model exchange
