Duties
  • You will utilize analytical ability and knowledge of engine accessories and components to review historical documentation.
  • You will examine inducted damaged engine accessories and components, preparing discrepancy reports as necessary to restore them to their required condition and configuration for return to service
  • You will perform inventory of engine accessories and components, providing resulting information to Production Control to ensure timely procurement of missing or non-repairable engine parts
  • You will evaluate aircraft components and material removed to determine the extent of disassembly required and depth of further work.
  • You will prepare and issue condition reports and detailed work instruction which specify and control the extent of disassembly, depth of rework and testing, as well as the disposition of components
  • You will verify historical data and feedback information for updating maintenance manuals and alerting Power Plants Engineering of recurring discrepancies and trends

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1. Examine, evaluate, and analyze the condition of aircraft engine accessories and components to determine, specify and control the extent of disassembly and depth of rework. 2. Must be proficient in trouble-shooting. This requires a detailed knowledge of the operating principles and functions of the various systems of the engine accessory components and their inter-relationships. 3. Examiner must possess a high degree of analytical ability and knowledge of engine accessory/component rework procedures, processes and repair techniques and the type of processing required for various types of components. 4. Must have the ability to clearly and concisely communicate, both orally and in writing and be able to interpret and retain information from complex blueprints, detailed specifications and technical directives. 5. Examiner is required to exercise a high degree of judgement in making decisions on a wide area of technical situations and is assigned positive control of disassembly and prescribing the amount of work that shall be done.
