Duties
  • Execution and management of the Dam Safety field instrumentation program.
  • Ensure instruments are functional and that data can be gathered in the field.
  • Participate in inspections with specific attention to project instrumentation and potential instrumentation deficiencies
  • Review records of instrumentation and provide assistance in evaluating performance and safety of dams based on available instrumentation data.
  • Monitor performance and initiate action to document, repair and/or maintain dam safety instrumentation such as weirs, flumes, pumps, piezometers, transducers, pressure gauges and strain meters.

  • Incumbent must possess a valid State driver’s license
  • This position requires the ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds specific to the position.
  • The duties of this position require prolonged use of the computer which may cause eyestrain.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirements: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-7) for the GS-9, (GS-8) for the GS-10, (GS-9) for the GS-11.
