About the position

The Field Technician role at GDS Associates, Inc. focuses on supporting the Efficiency Maine Commercial & Industrial Prescriptive Initiatives. This remote position requires the technician to provide technical support, conduct project reviews, and assist businesses in understanding and applying for energy efficiency incentives. The technician will work closely with commercial and industrial customers, providing on-site inspections and training as needed, while being self-motivated and organized.

Responsibilities

• Complete project reviews and pre-approvals for project eligibility.
• Conduct pre- and post-installation inspections to confirm the proposed materials were installed as specified.
• Provide technical advice to Maine businesses on energy-saving equipment selection and purchase.
• Explain program details, application processes, and assist in application completion.
• Assist businesses in locating participating suppliers and contractors for energy-efficient equipment installation.
• Deliver in-person and online training on energy efficiency measures to Qualified Partners.
• Support miscellaneous outreach and research tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of two years’ experience in energy efficiency or a related field.
• Experience in lighting or HVAC fields is a plus.
• Proficient in microcomputer-based word processing, database programming, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with high accuracy.
• Must pass a background check and have own transportation.
